A polymeric co-assembly of subunit vaccine with polyoxometalates induces enhanced immune responses

Xinpei Li et al.

Summary: By co-assembling {Mo72Fe30} with Mycobacterium bovis antigens, enhanced humoral and cellular immune responses in mice post-vaccination can be achieved. The anti-inflammatory factor IL-10 gradually increases after 2 weeks and returns to normal levels by the 5th week. The balance between proinflammatory cytokines and anti-inflammatory factors indicates that the immune system can be activated early in infection, secreting acute inflammatory factors for host defense and anti-inflammatory factors for immune protection through antigens carried by supra-particles.

Self-assembly of polyoxometalate clusters into two-dimensional clusterphene structures featuring hexagonal pores

Qingda Liu et al.

Summary: The assembly of polyoxometalate clusters into layered structures, referred to as clusterphenes, has been reported. These 2D structures exhibit uniform hexagonal pores and in-plane electron delocalization properties. The resulting clusterphenes show improved stability and catalytic efficiency, thanks to the electron delocalization within the 2D layer.

Ultra-Strong and Proton Conductive Aqua-Based Adhesives from Facile Blending of Polyvinyl Alcohol and Tungsten Oxide Clusters

Jiadong Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, nanocomposites were prepared by combining polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and phosphotungstic acid (PTA), showing promising light transmittance, proton conductivity, and high adhesive strengths. The supramolecular complexation between PVA and PTA reduced the crystallinity of PVA, accelerated its chain dynamics, and enabled close contact with glass substrates for strong adhesion. The interaction between PVA and PTA also enhanced the mechanical strength of the nanocomposites, resolving the issue of cohesion failure.

Summary: The study focuses on the first linear poly(POM) by directly visualizing the chains using scanning transmission electron microscopy. Individual clusters of poly(POM)s can be directly visualized due to their resistance to electron-beam damage and high contrast of the tungsten POM pendants. The shape diversity of cluster aggregates indicates strong interactions between clusters determine the diverse chain shapes formed during solution processing.
