Past, present and future of indium phosphide quantum dots

Houman Bahmani Jalali et al.

Summary: Indium phosphide (InP) colloidal quantum dots (QDs) have gained significant attention as a less toxic alternative to cadmium-based QDs. They possess tunable spectra, narrow emission linewidths, and high quantum yields. InP QDs have been widely applied in light-emitting diodes, photovoltaics, and show potential for commercialization.

Metal-Free N-H Bond Activation by Phospha-Wittig Reagents

Fabian Dankert et al.

Summary: The translation introduces the source of N-containing molecules and the methods for their activation, including ammonia activation by single transition metal centers and low-valent main group species, as well as the stabilization of mono-valent phosphorus species by phosphines. DFT studies reveal that the exchange between NH3 and PMe3 requires the concerted action of two NH3 molecules. Furthermore, the activation of H2NR and HNR2 is demonstrated.

Advances and recent trends in dipnictenes chemistry

Lothar Weber et al.

Summary: Dipnictenes, molecules with a double bond between two Group 15 elements, have made remarkable progress in recent years. The introduction of new ligand systems and non-carbon donor substituents has led to the discovery of numerous dipnictenes with diverse properties. Stable N-heterocyclic carbenes and other singlet carbenes have also been utilized in the synthesis of related unsaturated species. A comprehensive understanding of the structure, bonding, and reactivity of dipnictenes and the influence of substituents on their properties is crucial for advancements in the field.

Structural Snapshots in Reversible Phosphinidene Transfer:Synthetic, Structural, and Reaction Chemistry of a Sn= P DoubleBond

Malte Fischer et al.

Summary: Amido-substituted stannylenes reacted with phospha-Wittig reagents result in the formation of P-donor stabilized stannylenes featuring four-membered Sn,C,P,Pheterocycles. The structure of these systems in thesolid state can be tuned by increasing steric loading, leading to successive P-P bond lengthening, Sn-P contraction, and even complete P-to-Sn transfer. The resulting stannaphosphene features a polar Sn???P double bond, as determined by structural and computational studies.

Side-on coordination of diphosphorus to a mononuclear iron center

Shuai Wang et al.

Summary: The diagonal relationship between phosphorus and carbon in the periodic table suggests that the diatomic diphosphorus molecule (P-2) should have similar properties to acetylene (HC CH). In this study, a mononuclear iron complex featuring P-2 coordination was isolated and characterized, revealing similar electronic demands but different reactivity profiles compared to acetylene coordination.

Frustrated Lewis Pair Chelation as a Vehicle for Low-Temperature Semiconductor Element and Polymer Deposition

Alvaro A. Omana et al.

Summary: This study presents a method to stabilize silicon(II) and germanium(II) dihydrides using an intramolecular Frustrated Lewis Pair (FLP) ligand, PB. The resulting hydride complexes are indefinitely stable at room temperature and can deposit silicon and germanium films upon mild thermolysis. Overall, this work introduces a closed-loop deposition strategy for semiconductors, reducing the reliance on harsh reagents or high temperatures.
