Molecular Fluorescent Probes for Liver Tumor Imaging

Qian Liu et al.

Summary: Liver cancer is a highly prevalent and deadly malignant tumor. The traditional treatment method of hepatectomy is limited by the difficulty of accurately distinguishing tumor tissue, leading to ambiguous resection results and high recurrence rates. Molecular fluorescent probes, with their advantages of non-invasiveness, high sensitivity, and real-time imaging, have been extensively studied for liver cancer imaging and therapy. This review provides a brief introduction to the recent developments of always-on and activatable fluorescent probes in liver cancer imaging and therapy, as well as discussing potential challenges for their clinical application.

Recent Progress in Fluorescent Sensors for Drug-Induced Liver Injury Assessment

Jiao Chen et al.

Summary: Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is a significant concern in drug discovery and clinical medicine, and current clinical methods for detecting DILI are not optimal. Recent studies suggest that fluorescent sensors could be efficient tools for detecting DILI indicators with high sensitivity and specificity, though there are challenges in developing diagnostic fluorescent sensors for DILI. The design strategies and challenges discussed in this review may inspire chemists to develop accurate diagnostic fluorescent sensors for other diseases.
