Paper-Based Bipolar Electrode Electrochemiluminescence Platform Combined with Pencil-Drawing Trace for the Detection of M.SssI Methyltransferase

Lin Zhu et al.

Summary: In this study, a hand-drawing paper-based bipolar electrode electrochemiluminescence platform was developed for the detection of M.SssI methyltransferase. The platform utilized high electrocatalytic Pt@CeO2 as an ECL co-reaction accelerator and pencil-drawing graphite electric circuits as wires and electrodes. The platform provides a convenient, low-cost and easy-to-operate solution for early disease diagnosis and pathogenesis research.

Biofluid Biomarkers of Alzheimer's Disease: Progress, Problems, and Perspectives

Shan Huang et al.

Summary: The diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) has become more precise with the introduction of the biomarker-based A-T-N (Amyloid/Tau/Neurodegeneration) framework. However, this framework does not cover the entire spectrum of AD pathologies and the invasive nature and high costs of the diagnostic methods for the central nervous system pose limitations. Therefore, adding an X to the A-T-N framework and focusing on peripheral biomarkers in the diagnosis of AD is recommended.

Ultrasensitive Electrochemiluminescence Biosensor Based on Closed Bipolar Electrode for Alkaline Phosphatase Detection in Single Liver Cancer Cell

Xiao-Yan Yang et al.

Summary: An ultrasensitive electrochemiluminescence biosensor based on a closed bipolar electrode was proposed for the detection of alkaline phosphatase. The sensitivity of the system was greatly enhanced by utilizing enzyme catalysis for signal amplification and electrodeposition of Au nanoparticles on the cathode surface. This biosensor showed high sensitivity and specificity, with a detection limit as low as 3.7 aM, and successfully realized ALP detection in single cells.

Alzheimer-Associated Neuronal Thread Protein: Research Course and Prospects for the Future

He Jin et al.

Summary: Alzheimer's disease is the leading cause of dementia, and the prevalence is increasing globally. AD7c-NTP has been identified as a potential biomarker for diagnosing AD and MCI, particularly in urine tests which are non-invasive and more easily accepted by patients. The use of AD7c-NTP as a biomarker has undergone extensive research over nearly 25 years, but its detection in urine has sparked controversy compared to traditional sources like CSF or blood.
