FeS nanoparticles embedded in 2D carbon nanosheets as novel nanozymes with peroxidase-like activity for colorimetric and fluorescence assay of H2O2 and antioxidant capacity

Chan Song et al.

Summary: Nanozymes with high catalytic performance are crucial for the construction of advanced biosensors for the detection and analysis of complex biological samples. In this study, FeS nanoparticles embedded in 2D carbon nanosheets (FeS@CNs) were demonstrated to have excellent catalytic activity as nanozymes. The introduction of a mesoporous carbon substrate effectively improved the enzymatic peroxidase-like activity of the embedded FeS nanozymes, especially in the fluorescence catalytic system. A facile method for H2O2 assay was designed based on the high peroxidase-like activity of the FeS@CNs nanozymes, with low detection limits for both colorimetric and fluorescence methods.
