Bridging Interparticle Li+ Conduction in a Soft Ceramic Oxide Electrolyte

Wan-Ping Chen et al.

Summary: Uniform conjugated polymer nanocoating on ceramic oxide particles surface enables Li+ conduction pathways between adjacent particles in unsintered ceramics. Thin-film electrolyte prepared from polymer-coated ceramic particles shows sufficient ionic conductivity for stable cycling of symmetric Li/Li cells and all-solid-state rechargeable Li-metal cells.

Visualizing plating-induced cracking in lithium-anode solid-electrolyte cells

Ziyang Ning et al.

Summary: The propagation of lithium dendrites and cracks through ceramic electrolytes can lead to short circuits in batteries. The cracks initiate near the surface of the lithium electrode and propagate transversely across the electrolyte, driven by lithium ingress.

Recent development of lithium argyrodite solid-state electrolytes for solid-state batteries: Synthesis, structure, stability and dynamics

Chuang Yu et al.

Summary: Solid electrolytes are crucial for the safety, reliability, and performance of all-solid-state lithium batteries. Argyrodites, as a relatively new class of solid electrolytes based on sulfides, show high ionic conductivity, low cost, and good compatibility with Li metal, but still face challenges in practical applications despite continuous research improvements.

Building a Better Li-Garnet Solid Electrolyte/Metallic Li Interface with Antimony

Romain Dubey et al.

Summary: The study finds that using Sb as an interface layer helps to improve the wettability of Li on LLZO, reducing the interfacial resistance. Experimental results show that both Li/Sb-coated LLZO/Li cells and LLZO/V2O5 full cells exhibit good electrochemical performance without external pressure.

Summary: The research identifies layer-structured SbBiTe3 as an ideal anode material for high-performance potassium-ion batteries through theoretical exploration. The SbBiTe3/graphite anode prepared by a simple and scalable ball-milling strategy delivers a remarkable capacity after prolonged cycling, with Coulombic efficiencies consistently higher than 99%, indicating its excellent electrochemical performance compared to other electrode materials.
