3D Printed Skin-Inspired Flexible Pressure Sensor with Gradient Porous Structure for Tunable High Sensitivity and Wide Linearity Range

Guotao Zhu et al.

Summary: A skin-inspired flexible pressure sensor with gradient porous structure is proposed, and quantitative descriptions between sensitivity and sensor structure parameters are derived based on finite element analysis. The sensor shows good sensitivity over an ultra-wide linear range and demonstrates excellent stability and durability during testing. The sensor is also successfully applied in voice recognition, grasp sensing, and intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) interface pressure monitoring.

Highly Elastic and Fatigue-Resistant Graphene-Wrapped Lamellar Wood Sponges for High-Performance Piezoresistive Sensors

Hao Guan et al.

Summary: A simple and sustainable strategy is proposed to fabricate a high-performance piezoresistive sensor using reduced graphene oxide-coated wood sponge. The introduced RGO nanosheets endow the material with high conductivity, elasticity, and fatigue resistance, making it an ideal piezoresistive sensor with high sensitivity and excellent sensing performance. The developed sensor allows for detecting human motions and physiological signals and can be integrated into a large-area sensing array for spatially resolved pressure mapping.

Microelectronics-Free, Augmented Telemetry from Body-Worn Passive Wireless Sensors

Amirhossein Hajiaghajani et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the implementation of coupled magnetic resonances in wearable sensing systems, aiming to address issues faced by wearable sensors including restrictive read-out distances, tradeoffs in size/spectral performance, and unreliable sensor tracking. By integrating secondary receiver coils and enhancing wireless telemetry, the size of sensors and their spectral response are completely decoupled, allowing for co-measurement with human respiration among other applications.
