Tactile tribotronic reconfigurable p-n junctions for artificial synapses

Mengmeng Jia et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a robust and continuously adjustable mechanoplastic transistor based on an integrated graphene/hexagonal boron nitride/tungsten diselenide heterostructure and a triboelectric nanogenerator. The transistor can manipulate and switch its working states under the modulation of triboelectric potential derived from mechanical actions, enabling the construction of a reconfigurable artificial synapse. The artificial synapse exhibits typical synaptic plasticity and dynamic control correlations, with ultra-low energy consumption.
