Self-Assembly and Regrowth of Metal Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals for Optoelectronic Applications

Jiakai Liu et al.

Summary: The self-assembly and regrowth of metal halide perovskite (MHP) nanocrystals have attracted significant attention due to their potential applications in photovoltaics, X-ray scintillators, and LEDs. Through self-assembly and regrowth, the structure and morphology of MHP nanocrystals can be controlled, leading to improved commercial potential. Additionally, the self-assembly and regrowth processes can modify the electronic properties of MHP nanocrystals, resulting in enhanced device performance. However, further research is needed to fully understand the design principles and applications of MHP self-assembly and regrowth.

Alkylammonium Halides for Facet Reconstruction and Shape Modulation in Lead Halide Perovskite Nanocrystals

Narayan Pradhan

Summary: This article reviews the interactions of alkyl ammonium ions on the surface of perovskite nanocrystals and their influence on surface reconstructions. It primarily discusses the effects on phase stability, brightness enhancement, and new facet formation in CsPbBr3 nanocrystals. Additionally, the transformation of multifaceted polyhedron nanocrystals and the formation of armed and step-armed structures under different conditions are explored.

Suppression of temperature quenching in perovskite nanocrystals for efficient and thermally stable light-emitting diodes

Mingming Liu et al.

Summary: Fluoride-treated CsPbBr3 nanocrystals exhibit near unity emission efficiency at temperatures up to 373 K, with constant decay kinetics. The treatment leads to surfaces rich in fluorine with wider energy gaps than the core, suppressing carrier trapping and improving thermal stability. Devices incorporating these nanocrystals show low turn-on voltage and high external quantum efficiency, with nearly 80% efficiency maintained at high temperatures, offering a promising pathway for high-performance light-emitting diodes based on perovskite nanostructures.

Introducing B-Site Cations by Ion Exchange and Shape Anisotropy in CsPbBr3 Perovskite Nanostructures

Biswajit Hudait et al.

Summary: Researchers have successfully synthesized anisotropic perovskite nanocrystals with tailored shapes and unique properties using derivatives of alpha-bromo ketones. It is theorized that the directional growth of anisotropic perovskite nanocrystals may depend on the structure of the parent lattice, rather than following specific growth rules.

Energetic and electronic properties of CsPbBr3 surfaces: a first-principles study

Yi Yang et al.

Summary: Surface properties of all-inorganic halide perovskites, specifically cubic CsPbBr3, were systematically studied using density functional theory. Nonpolar CsBr-terminated (100) surfaces were found to be the most stable, while polar (110) and (111) surfaces were unstable due to charge transfer effects. Modulation of surface chemical composition was identified as an effective way to compensate polarity and enhance stability.
