Controllable storage and retrieval of optical solitons in triple quantum dot molecules by inter-dot tunneling coupling effect

Sijie Zhou et al.

Summary: This study investigates the storage and retrieval of optical field in an aligned asymmetric triple quantum dot molecule with inter-dot tunneling coupling effect on both sides. It is found that optical solitons can be stored and retrieved by manipulating the inter-dot tunneling coupling effect, which differs from light memory in ultra-cold atom systems. Furthermore, the amplitude of the optical soliton shows a trend of first decreasing and then increasing with the increasing strength of the inter-dot tunneling coupling. This possibility may improve the fidelity of optical information storage and retrieval in semiconductor quantum dot devices.

Dynamics of bright soliton in a spin-orbit coupled spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate*

Hui Guo et al.

Summary: The dynamics of bright solitons in a spin-orbit coupled spin-1 Bose-Einstein condensate were investigated both analytically and numerically. It was found that the spin-orbit coupling couples the soliton's spin with its center-of-mass motion, resulting in periodical oscillation of the center-of-mass. The motion of the center-of-mass of the soliton can be viewed as a superposition of periodical and linear motions.

Interaction region of magnon-mediated spin torques and novel magnetic states*

Zai-Dong Li et al.

Summary: Through stability analysis of magnetization dynamics based on spin-wave background, we determined the region where magnon-mediated spin torques exist and obtained the instability conditions of spin waves. The results reveal the relationship between unstable regions and the formation of novel magnetic excitations such as Akhmediev breather, Kuznetsov-Ma breather, and rogue waves. This study establishes a phase diagram of some new magnetic excitations.
