A Systematic Review of Racial/Ethnic Disparities in Female Pelvic Floor Disorders

Daniel C. Gonzalez et al.

Summary: This study aims to review the literature on racial/ethnic disparities in pelvic floor disorders among women. The results indicate inconsistent differences in prevalence of disease, disease severity, and treatment outcomes. Understanding these disparities may help improve education, outreach opportunities, and access to care for minority women with pelvic floor disorders.

Is there an association between parity and urinary incontinence in women during pregnancy and the first year postpartum?: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Francesca Wuytack et al.

Summary: Multiparity was significantly associated with urinary incontinence in the last pregnancy and at 3 months postpartum. However, studies on urinary incontinence during pregnancy showed conflicting results and the evidence was very uncertain. Future studies should focus on using consistent definitions and exploring different sub-types of urinary incontinence.

Heidi F. A. Moossdorff-Steinhauser et al.

Summary: The study found that the prevalence of urinary incontinence (UI) in post-partum women is 31%, with a drop at 3 months post-partum followed by a rise to nearly the same level as in the third trimester of pregnancy at 1 year post-partum.
