A physics-informed neural network-based numerical inverse method for optimization of diffusion coefficients in NiCoFeCr multi principal element alloy

Hemanth Kumar et al.

Summary: This study estimates the composition-dependent pseudo-binary interdiffusion coefficients and the main intrinsic diffusion coefficients of the NiCoFeCr system using the PB diffusion couple method. The diffusion parameters are optimized using a physics-informed machine learning inverse method. The results demonstrate the importance of estimating intrinsic diffusion coefficients and their role in generating a reliable mobility database.

Estimation of Tracer and Intrinsic Diffusion Coefficients from Body Diagonal Diffusion Couples in a Multi-Principal Element Alloy

Anuj Dash et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates a method to estimate tracer diffusion coefficients from only two diffusion profiles in a multicomponent system using the concept of the body diagonal diffusion couple method. Subsequently, the intrinsic and interdiffusion coefficients can be estimated. This method significantly reduces the overall effort and enables the estimation of all types of diffusion coefficients.

Correlation between estimated diffusion coefficients from different types of diffusion couples in multicomponent system

Neelamegan Esakkiraja et al.

Summary: Interdiffusion coefficients can be estimated experimentally using pseudo-binary and pseudo-ternary diffusion couple methods. Tracer diffusion coefficients can be estimated at the cross of diffusion paths in pseudo-ternary diffusion couples, allowing for a better understanding of the correlation between estimated data in different types of diffusion couples. The method can be extended to systems where estimation of tracer diffusion coefficients following the radiotracer method is difficult or impossible.
