Shaping and enhancing the photoluminescence of halide perovskite quantum dots with plasmonic lattices

Elizabeth Mendoza-Sandoval et al.

Summary: Weakly coupling halide perovskite quantum dots (PeQDs) to plasmonic lattices can significantly change their photoluminescence pattern, converting the incoherent randomly oriented emitters into a spatially coherent source of polarized light. By optimizing the thickness of the perovskite layer and combining plasmonic lattices of different symmetries, simultaneous shaping of the emission pattern can be achieved, paving the way for designing solid-state lighting applications with programmable emission patterns.

The role of Rayleigh anomalies in the coupling process of plasmonic gratings and the control of the emission properties of organic molecules

Sarah Hamdad et al.

Summary: We report the investigation of the influence of periodic metallic arrays on the emission properties of organic emitters. The study emphasizes the crucial role of Rayleigh anomalies in defining the nature of the excited grating modes. Experimental and numerical studies indicate that tuning the geometrical grating parameters offers a possibility to select a particular coupling process, thereby altering the emission properties. The study also finds that Rayleigh anomalies act as an excitation source, shaping the emission to be highly directive.

Colorful Efficient Moire-Perovskite Solar Cells

Yang Wang et al.

Summary: Efficient moire-PSCs with moire interference structures are designed and fabricated, where the light harvesting ability can be well manipulated through changing the rotation angle. The boosted short-circuit current is credited to augment light diffraction channels, leading to elongated optical paths, and fold sunlight into the perovskite layer. Optimization with a 30 degrees rotation angle achieves the best enhancement of light harvesting, resulting in efficiencies over 20.17% (MAPbI(3)) and 21.76% ((FAPbI(3))(1-x) (MAPbBr(3))(x)).

Hybrid Plasmonic Surface Lattice Resonance Perovskite Lasers on Silver Nanoparticle Arrays

Zhen-Ting Huang et al.

Summary: The research demonstrates a hybrid plasmonic surface lattice resonance (SLR) laser constructed by a MAPbBr(3) perovskite thin film on an Ag nanoparticle array, with high refractive index of the film leading to high spontaneous emission coupling factor and low threshold lasing. The spin-coating process used to grow the perovskite thin film leaves air gaps underneath, providing a large index difference in the periodic array, beneficial for laser operation. The lasing behaviors of the hybrid plasmonic SLR perovskite laser exhibit excellent characteristics, with fixed polarization, enhancing lasing performance and enabling low-cost, low-energy-consumption laser applications.
