Porphyrin-Based Covalent Organic Framework Thin Films as Cathodic Materials for On-Off-On Photoelectrochemical Sensing of Lead Ions

Chuanrui Zhao et al.

Summary: Cathodic photoelectrochemical (PEC) sensors are urgently required for ultrasensitive environmental monitoring, and porphyrin-based covalent organic framework (TAPP-COF) thin films were fabricated and applied in this study. By utilizing CdSe@SiO2 quantum dots as a quenching agent and introducing target Pb2+, accurate monitoring with a wide detection range and low detection limit was achieved through an on-off-on PEC approach. This methodology provides an efficient platform for ultrasensitive determination of heavy metal ions, contributing significantly to environmental monitoring and public safety.

Highly Crystalline Covalent Organic Frameworks Act as a Dual-Functional Fluorescent-Sensing Platform for Myricetin and Water, and Adsorbents for Myricetin

Linlin Deng et al.

Summary: This study introduced a fluorescent covalent organic framework named COF-TD for selective detection and enrichment of myricetin from complex samples. The COF-TD exhibited properties such as spatial size selectivity, multisites hydrogen bonding, and pi-pi interaction, allowing for quenching of myricetin fluorescence and enrichment on its surface.

Fabricating Soft Fluorescent Materials by a Supramolecular Method and a Cost-Effective Approach to Effectively Sense Amine Vapors during Fish Spoilage

Bo Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a supramolecular method for fabricating soft fluorescent materials by grinding aggregation-induced emission luminogens with phenylboronic acid, demonstrating a versatile approach to designing fluorescent materials with customizable emission colors. The mechanistic study highlights the crucial role of hydrogen bonding in gel formation and responsive behavior to external stimuli, enabling the detection of amine vapors during fish spoilage. Moreover, cost-effective Fluo-Spheres are prepared through copolymerization and coprecipitation, offering a convenient and safe ultrasensor for monitoring food safety in a noncontact manner.
