A critical review on advances in the practices and perspectives for the treatment of dye industry wastewater

Toral Shindhal et al.

Summary: Rapid industrialization has brought comfort but also environmental harm, particularly from industries like dye industry producing large quantities of hazardous wastewater. There is now a shift towards resource recovery and sustainable management of wastewater. Microbial degradation technology is seen as highly promising for resource recovery and sustainability in treating dye industry wastewater.

Coupling azo dye degradation and biodiesel production by manganese-dependent peroxidase producing oleaginous yeasts isolated from wood-feeding termite gut symbionts

Sameh Samir Ali et al.

Summary: This study isolated promising yeasts from wood-feeding termite guts for combined azo dyes and textile wastewater bioremediation and biodiesel production. The novel yeast consortium showed efficient azo dyes decolorization and proposed a dye degradation pathway coupled to biodiesel production, offering a new approach for environmental protection and sustainable energy.

MEGA11 Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis Version 11

Koichiro Tamura et al.

Summary: MEGA software, a mature tool for computational molecular evolution, has been enhanced with new additions for building timetrees of species, pathogens, and gene families using rapid relaxed-clock methods. These additions include methods for estimating divergence times, confidence intervals, and new options for tagging sequences with spatiotemporal sampling information. The enhancements aim to improve user experience, result quality, and the pace of biological discovery.
