Preparation of porous biochar based on pharmaceutical sludge activated by NaOH and its application in the adsorption of tetracycline

Huidong Liu et al.

Summary: The study prepared biochar from two different types of pharmaceutical sludge activated by NaOH using impregnation and dry mixing methods, analyzing their characteristics and adsorption efficiency for tetracycline. The results showed that biochar prepared by dry mixing activation method had better adsorption performance for tetracycline. The study provides valuable information on the use of biochar derived from pharmaceutical sludge for tetracycline removal from wastewater.
