Gender Matching Did Not Affect 2-year Rejection or Failure Rates Following DSAEK for Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy

V. I. T. O. ROMANO et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether donor to recipient gender or H-Y mismatching was associated with graft rejection or failure following Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) in patients with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy (FECD). The results showed that gender and H-Y mismatching did not have a significant impact on graft rejection or failure in FECD patients undergoing DSAEK.

Long-Term Review of Penetrating Keratoplasty: A 20-Year Review in Asian Eyes

Arundhati Anshu et al.

Summary: The study reviewed the long-term outcomes of penetrating keratoplasty in Asian eyes over a 20-year period and found that optical grafts had significantly better survival rates compared to therapeutic and tectonic grafts. The overall corneal graft survival rate decreased over time, with irreversible allograft rejection and late endothelial failure being major causes of graft failures.
