Apparent molar volumes and apparent molar isentropic compression have been determined for glycine, L-alanine, glycylglycine and phenylalanine in (0.01 and 0.03) mol kg(-1) in aqueous solutions of 1-hexyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride ([C(6)mim][Cl]) solutions by measurements of densities and speeds of sound at different temperatures. Apparent molar volumes V-phi, partial molar volumes V-phi(0), transfer volumes Delta V-phi(0) and hydration number, n(H) are evaluated using density data. Apparent molar isentropic compression K-phi,K-s, partial molar isentropic compression transfer isentropic compression K-phi,S(0), and hydration number, n(H) have been calculated using speeds of sound data. The viscosity data have been analyzed by means of the Jones-Dole equation to obtain A and B-coefficients, free energy of activation of viscous flow per mole of solvent, Delta(0)(mu 1)* and solute, Delta(0)(mu 2)* enthalpy, Delta H-0*, and entropy of activation, Delta S-0* of viscous flow were evaluated. The behavior of these parameters has been interpreted in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
