This paper is intended for investigating the effects of heat and mass transfer on the peristaltic transport of magnetohydrodynamic couple stress fluid in an inclined asymmetric channel through porous medium. The governing two-dimensional equations of momentum, heat and mass transfer are simplified under the long wavelength and low Reynolds number approximations. The exact solutions are calculated for the stream function, pressure gradient, temperature and concentration. The pressure difference is calculated using numerical integration. The effects of different parameters on the velocity, pressure gradient, pressure difference, temperature and concentration fields, heat transfer coefficient, Nusselt number and trapping phenomena are highlighted through various graphs. It is observed that, pressure gradient and pressure difference increase with increase of Reynolds number and inclination angle of the channel. Temperature and heat transfer coefficient are increasing functions of Darcy number and inclination of the magnetic field. The size of the trapped bolus decreases with increase in couple stress fluid parameter, the trend is reversed with increase in Darcy number. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
