Impact of coronary plaque morphology on the precision of computational fractional flow reserve derived from optical coherence tomography imaging

Xiaoling Zeng et al.

Summary: This study aims to investigate whether the numerical precision of computational FFR is impacted by the plaque composition in the interrogated vessels. The results suggest that high lipid burden underestimates FFR, while TCFA, FPV, and CPV are not independent predictors of NDOI.

Prognostic Value of Microvascular Resistance at Rest in Patients With Takotsubo Syndrome

Jordi Sans-Rosello et al.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether the degree and extent of impaired microvascular resistance (MR) in Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) patients were associated with 1-year prognosis. The results showed that higher values of NH-IMRangio and the presence of 3 coronary arteries with increased MR were independent predictors of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) in TTS patients during 1-year follow-up.

Angiography-derived index of microcirculatory resistance (IMRangio) as a novel pressure-wire-free tool to assess coronary microvascular dysfunction in acute coronary syndromes and stable coronary artery disease

Summary: The study demonstrates that IMRangio can be used to detect CMD in patients with acute and stable coronary syndromes, and NH-IMRangio has good diagnostic accuracy in STEMI.

Summary: An automatic framework for intravascular optical coherence tomography (IVOCT) plaque characterisation using artificial intelligence (AI) was developed and validated in internal and external validation studies, showing excellent diagnostic accuracy and potential for objective image interpretation and quantitative analysis of plaque composition.

Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction in Takotsubo Syndrome Assessed by Angiography-Derived Index of Microcirculatory Resistance: A Pressure-Wire-Free Tool

Jordi Sans-Rosello et al.

Summary: The study found that coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) is highly prevalent in patients admitted for Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) and is associated with both a higher degree of systolic dysfunction and higher BNP levels, but not troponin.

Optical flow ratio for assessing stenting result and physiological significance of residual disease

Daixin Ding et al.

Summary: The study evaluated the accuracy of Optical flow ratio (OFR) in predicting post-PCI FFR and the impact of stent expansion on within-stent OFR pressure drop. The results showed good correlation between post-PCI OFR and FFR, significant correlation between simulated residual OFR and post-PCI FFR, and moderate correlation between stent underexpansion and in-stent pressure drop.
