Prevalence of burnout in healthcare professionals providing palliative care and the effect of interventions to reduce symptoms: A systematic literature review

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of burnout in healthcare professionals providing palliative care and effective interventions. The results showed a wide range of burnout among healthcare professionals, with general setting professionals experiencing more symptoms than those in specialized settings. Interventions such as meditation, communication training, peer-coaching, and art-therapy based supervision have been reported to reduce symptoms of burnout in this population.
