Can high-speed rail improve enterprise capacity utilization? A perspective of supply side and demand side

Juan Lu et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of high-speed rail on enterprise capacity utilization and finds that high-speed rail can significantly improve capacity utilization. The impact on the supply side is greater than on the demand side. Higher-grade high-speed rail stations make it easier for enterprises to improve capacity utilization. The closer the distance between the enterprise and the nearest high-speed rail station, the easier it is to improve capacity utilization. High-speed rail has a stronger promotion effect on the capacity utilization of eastern enterprises, non-state-owned enterprises, and labor-intensive enterprises.

Can the green merger and acquisition strategy improve the environmental protection investment of listed company?

Juan Lu

Summary: This study explores the impact of green merger and acquisition (GMA) strategies on environmental protection investment (EPI) of heavy pollution enterprises, finding that horizontal GMA has a greater effect on EPI compared to vertical and mixed GMA. The time effect analysis shows that GMA has a U-shaped effect on EPI, initially decreasing and then increasing. Through impact path testing, it is revealed that GMA inhibits EPI by increasing merger and acquisition costs and management costs, while promoting EPI through enhancing corporate reputation, environmental awareness, financing ability, and subsidies.
