Design, Dynamics, and Optimization of a 3-DoF Nonlinear Micro-Gyroscope by Considering the Influence of the Coriolis Force

Summary: This paper focuses on using the nonlinear hardening stiffness of the drive mode to improve the gain and bandwidth of a linear micro-gyroscope, by adjusting the sense mode system and designing a nonlinear micro-gyroscope with controllable stiffness. The results show that peaks spacing, damping, and driving nonlinearity have significant effects on gain and bandwidth, with parameter optimization leading to optimal gain and bandwidth. The introduction of nonlinear stiffness coefficient in the drive mode helps achieve higher gain and improved bandwidth in the sense direction.
