Neighbourhood effects and the incidence of child labour

Sylvanus Gaku et al.

Summary: This study examines the impact of neighborhood effects on children engaging in paid work, finding a stronger relationship among males and children in rural areas. Contrary to previous research, the association between poverty and child labor is relatively weak in the presence of neighborhood effects. Additionally, the propensity for child labor increases with higher employment levels at the community level.
