Gustavo de L. T. Oliveira et al.

Summary: The article analyzes the social debate triggered by the "global land grab" phenomenon, and proposes four aspects that are driving the debate beyond land grabs. It explores the role of contract farming and differentiation among farm workers in the consolidation of farmland, broader forms of dispossession and control mechanisms, Chinese agribusiness investments abroad, and the relationship between financialization and land grabbing.
