Summary: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) Colonoscopy CLN (ENDO-AID) in increasing the polyp detection rate (PDR). A retrospective study was conducted in a single center, comparing the PDR in the AI group (using ENDO-AID from 11/2020 to 03/2021) to the non-AI group (cases from 12/2019 to 11/2020). The results showed that the AI group had significantly higher PDR and adenoma detection rate compared to the non-AI group.

Summary: This study adapted a deep neural network system (DNUC) to real-time video colonoscopy for the detection of histological mucosal inflammation in ulcerative colitis patients. The DNUC showed high sensitivity and specificity in predicting histological remission, and its endoscopic scoring was consistent with expert evaluations. The system has the potential to reduce the number of biopsies required and can be applied in various medical situations.

Summary: In this study, a novel intelligent medical device was developed to operate seamlessly in real-time using conventional white light endoscopy video stream without the need for virtual chromoendoscopy. The device has the potential to support non-expert endoscopists in systematically reaching the performance level of expert endoscopists in optical characterization.

Summary: The global cancer burden in 2020 saw an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Female breast cancer surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer, while lung cancer remained the leading cause of cancer death. These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.
