Identification, characterization and optimization of phosphate solubilizing rhizobacteria (PSRB) from rice rhizosphere

Renu Gupta et al.

Summary: Rice is a staple food for two billion people globally, with phosphorus and nitrogen being essential for its growth. Phosphate solubilizing rhizobacteria (PSRB) are important for promoting plant growth by enhancing phosphorus and nitrogen uptake. The study identified PSRB strains with efficient phosphate solubilization activity under different environmental conditions such as pH, temperature, and salt concentrations.

Characterization of zinc solubilization potential of arsenic tolerant Burkholderia spp. isolated from rice rhizospheric soil

Kiron Bhakat et al.

Summary: This study isolated and characterized rice rhizosphere bacteria for their ability to tolerate arsenic and solubilize zinc. It was found that bacteria belonging to Burkholderia vietnamiensis and Burkholderia seminalis exhibited high zinc solubilization efficiency, with variations in efficiency based on the type and concentration of zinc salts used. The presence of arsenic negatively impacted zinc solubilization, and Burkholderia spp. showed potential for enhancing zinc dissolution in soil, reducing the need for inorganic zinc fertilization in agricultural soil.

Phosphate-Solubilizing Bacterium Acinetobacter pittii gp-1 Affects Rhizosphere Bacterial Community to Alleviate Soil Phosphorus Limitation for Growth of Soybean (Glycine max)

Donglan He et al.

Summary: Inoculation of phosphate-solubilizing bacteria Acinetobacter pittii gp-1 significantly promotes soybean growth by increasing phosphatase and phytase activities, as well as indole acetic acid content. Additionally, application of A. pittii gp-1 also increases the abundances of genes related to both inorganic and organic P-cycling.

Isolation, Characterization of Zn Solubilizing Bacterium (Pseudomonas protegens RY2) and its Contribution in Growth of Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L) as Deciphered by Improved Growth Parameters and Zn Content

Riffat Yasmin et al.

Summary: This study isolated and characterized Zinc-solubilizing bacteria, with Pseudomonas protegens (RY2, MF351762) identified as the most promising strain. Quantitative assays showed that RY2 had significantly higher zinc solubilization than other strains. Chickpea plants inoculated with RY2 showed enhanced growth parameters and increased zinc content in shoot and root, indicating the potential for reduced inorganic zinc application.

MEGA11 Molecular Evolutionary Genetics Analysis Version 11

Koichiro Tamura et al.

Summary: MEGA software, a mature tool for computational molecular evolution, has been enhanced with new additions for building timetrees of species, pathogens, and gene families using rapid relaxed-clock methods. These additions include methods for estimating divergence times, confidence intervals, and new options for tagging sequences with spatiotemporal sampling information. The enhancements aim to improve user experience, result quality, and the pace of biological discovery.
