Regulating lignin content to obtain excellent bamboo-derived electromagnetic wave absorber with thermal stability

Room temperature aqueous-based synthesis of copper-doped lead sulfide nanoparticles for thermoelectric application

An angle-insensitive electromagnetic absorber enabling a wideband absorption

Summary: This article proposes a strategy to mitigate environmental pollution caused by electromagnetic waves by designing electromagnetic wave absorbers with wideband absorption capability. The effect of the absorbers' structure and the incident angle of the electromagnetic waves on the absorption performance was studied by synthesizing absorbers with different symmetric structures. It was found that non-magnetic absorbers with spatially symmetric nanostructures exhibit excellent angle-insensitivity. Finally, non-magnetic absorbers made from bamboo-derived carbon nanospheres were demonstrated to have angle-insensitivity and wideband absorption performance with a significant improvement in thickness.

Solidification of heavy metals in lead smelting slag and development of cementitious materials

Summary: This study explores the effects of different particle sizes of lead smelting slag (LSS) on the compressive strength of cementitious materials. The results show that decreasing the particle size can significantly improve the compressive strength of the materials, especially in the early stage. Analysis of LSS with different particle sizes reveals that decreasing the particle size increases the specific surface areas and decreases the degree of crystallinity. Microscopic analysis of the cementitious materials indicates that decreasing the particle size enhances the degree of reaction and gelation, resulting in a denser structure.

A seed germination-inspired interface polarization augmentation strategy toward superior electromagnetic absorption performance

Summary: Dielectric/magnetic composites are attractive candidates for high-performance electromagnetic wave absorption materials. However, the agglomeration of magnetic nanoparticles in the carbon matrix is a common issue. This study employed a high-temperature carbon nanotube method inspired by seed germination to prevent agglomeration and reinforce interfacial polarization. The resulting composites exhibited strong electromagnetic attenuation ability compared to composites with agglomerated magnetic nanoparticles.

This review summarizes the latest progress and understanding of various loss types in hollow-structured EWAMs and their hybrids, discusses fabrication strategies, absorption properties, and attenuation mechanisms of selected achievements, and also explores the challenges and future trends of hollow EWAMs.

Metal-organic framework-derived carbon nanotubes for broadband electromagnetic wave absorption

Summary: The deterioration of the electromagnetic environment due to the widespread use of communication devices has led to the urgent need for more efficient electromagnetic wave absorbing materials. In this study, composites with magnetic Co/carbon nanotube modification were prepared for electromagnetic wave absorption. The composites showed excellent absorption performance, including a minimum reflection loss of -56.23 dB and a maximum effective absorption bandwidth of 7.36 GHz. The mechanisms involved in electromagnetic wave uptake were also explained in detail.

Encapsulating Ir nanoparticles into UiO-66 for photo-thermal catalytic CO2 methanation under ambient pressure

Summary: Photo-thermal catalysis is a promising strategy for converting CO2 into value-added chemicals. In this study, Ir@UiO-66 hybrids were synthesized and used as catalysts for CO2 methanation under light irradiation. The results showed that the catalysts exhibited high activity and selectivity, with significantly improved methane production compared to the dark reaction. The study also revealed the key intermediate involved in the reaction and the role of light irradiation in promoting CH4 production.

Preparation of SiC Nanowire/Carbon Fiber Composites with Enhanced Electromagnetic Wave Absorption Performance
