Squashing and supersymmetry enhancement in three dimensions

Joseph Minahan et al.

Summary: This paper investigates mass-deformed theories with N≥2 supersymmetry, and finds that the supersymmetry on squashed spheres is enhanced at special values of mass deformations. It is also shown that only the states annihilated by extra supercharges contribute to the 3d partition function for these special mass deformations.

Far beyond the planar limit in strongly-coupled N=4 SYM

Shai M. Chester et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the N = 4 super-Yang-Mills theory placed on a round four-sphere and deformed by a mass parameter while using supersymmetric localization to compute the free energy. A new exact relation was derived between the fourth derivative of the sphere free energy and the stress-tensor multiplet four-point function in the N = 4 SYM theory, which was then utilized along with other constraints to determine various perturbative terms in the large N and large 't Hooft coupling lambda expansion. The leading large-lambda term in the N = 4 SYM correlation function at order 1/N-8 was determined, reaching three orders beyond the planar limit.

Maximal U(1)Y-violating n-point correlators in N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory

Michael B. Green et al.

Summary: This paper looks at a specific class of n-point correlation functions in the context of N = 4 supersymmetric SU(N) Yang-Mills theory. These correlators violate the U(1)(Y) charge by a maximum of 2(n - 4) units and satisfy recursion relations similar to the soft dilaton relations in type IIB superstring theory. The Mellin representations of these correlators correspond to higher derivative contact terms in the low-energy expansion of type IIB superstring theory in AdS(5)x S-5.

Conformal field theories on deformed spheres, anomalies, and supersymmetry

Joseph A. Minahan et al.

Summary: The study examines the free energy of four-dimensional CFTs on deformed spheres, finding that only the coefficient of the logarithmic divergence is physically significant and that N=2 SCFTs can preserve some supersymmetry by turning on appropriate background fields. Deformations of the round sphere lead to corrections in the c anomaly proportional to the supersymmetric completion of the (Weyl)(2) term, determined through the analysis of scale dependence in various correlators in the stress-tensor multiplet.

Exact expressions for n-point maximal U(1)Y-violating integrated correlators in SU(N) N=4 SYM

Daniele Dorigoni et al.

Summary: The exact expressions for integrated maximal U(1)(Y) violating (MUV) n-point correlators in SU(N) N = 4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory have been determined using supersymmetric localisation. These integrated correlators satisfy Laplace-difference equations and can be expressed as infinite sums of Eisenstein modular forms.

Novel Representation of an Integrated Correlator in N=4 Supersymmetric Yang-Mills Theory

Daniele Dorigoni et al.

Summary: This study reexpresses the integrated correlator of four superconformal stress-tensor primaries of N = 4 supersymmetric SU(N) Yang-Mills theory as a two-dimensional lattice sum, which is shown to be invariant under SL (2, Z) S duality. The lattice sum is proven to satisfy a novel Laplace equation in the complex coupling constant z, connecting the SU(N) integrated correlator to those of the SU(N + 1) and SU(N - 1) theories. It accurately reproduces both perturbative and nonperturbative properties of N = 4 SYM for any finite N, as well as extending previously conjectured properties of the large-N expansion.

From N=4 Super-Yang-Mills on P4 to bosonic Yang-Mills on P2

Yifan Wang

Summary: Through the use of supersymmetric localization, it is found that the N = 4 super-Yang-Mills (SYM) theory on unorientable spacetime manifold can be effectively captured by a two-dimensional bosonic Yang-Mills (YM) theory. This provides a foundation for understanding the relationship between the two theories.

Squashing, mass, and holography for 3d sphere free energy

Shai M. Chester et al.

Summary: By utilizing supersymmetric localization, the free energy of spheres in N = 6 and N = 8 ABJ(M) theories can be computed, establishing intricate relationships between derivatives of m(I) and b. For the N = 8 ABJ(M) theory, these relationships determine the derivatives of m(1) and m(2).

New modular invariants in N=4 Super-Yang-Mills theory

Shai M. Chester et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the modular invariants in the four-point functions of stress tensor multiplet operators in the N = 4 SU(N) super-Yang-Mills theory, revealing their forms at different orders in the 1/N expansion and their implications for the low-energy expansion in superstring theory and the analogous expansion in AdS(5) x S-5. The results provide evidence that these modular invariants are related to non-holomorphic Eisenstein series and generalized Eisenstein series at different orders in 1/N, shedding light on the structure of the expansions in higher-dimensional spaces.

Exact properties of an integrated correlator in N=4 SU(N) SYM

Daniele Dorigoni et al.

Summary: This paper presents a novel expression for an integrated correlator in SU(N) N=4 supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, applicable to all N and values of the complex Yang-Mills coupling. The correlator can be expressed as an infinite series of non-holomorphic Eisenstein series and rational coefficients, and is invariant under SL(2,Z) Montonen-Olive duality. Furthermore, the large-N expansion of the correlator with fixed tau is a series in powers of N1/2-l with coefficients that are rational sums of Es;tau(tau) over bar, giving an all orders derivation of the conjectured expansion.
