Li2CO3/LiF-Rich Heterostructured Solid Electrolyte Interphase with Superior Lithiophilic and Li+-Transferred Characteristics via Adjusting Electrolyte Additives

Daxiong Wu et al.

Summary: This study successfully realizes a solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) with the properties of Li2CO3-rich and LiF-rich types by using different fluorine phenylphospines. The SEI formed in the presence of tris(4-fluorophenyl)phosphine (TFPP) has a balanced Li+ transport kinetics, good electron insulator capability, and strong affinity toward Li+. It effectively guarantees fast and uniform Li+ flux while preventing electron penetration, resulting in stable Li plating/stripping and excellent performance of Li-ion batteries.
