Additive-Free, Low-Temperature Crystallization of Stable α-FAPbI3 Perovskite

Tian Du et al.

Summary: Aerosol-assisted crystallization (AAC) method is used to convert yellow delta-FAPbI(3) into black alpha-FAPbI(3) at a lower temperature, resulting in significantly improved stability, crystallinity, and photoluminescence yield. Relaxation of residual tensile strains during AAC is identified as the key factor for the formation of phase-stable alpha-FAPbI(3). Pure FAPbI(3) p-i-n solar cells fabricated using low-temperature AAC processing demonstrate higher power conversion efficiency and operational stability compared to those fabricated using high-temperature annealed films.

Propylammonium Chloride Additive for Efficient and Stable FAPbI3 Perovskite Solar Cells

Yong Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, n-propylammonium chloride (PACl) is proposed as an alternative to methylammonium chloride (MACl) to improve the stability and efficiency of FAPbI(3)-based perovskite solar cells. The addition of PACl increases perovskite grain size and significantly prolongs carrier lifetime. Compared to MACl, the PACl additive leads to better stability against moisture due to the in situ formed barrier at the bulk perovskite.

Tuning the Interactions of Methylammonium Acetate with Acetonitrile to Create Efficient Perovskite Solar Cells

Bo Sun et al.

Summary: The elucidation of intermolecular interactions for the systematic control of nucleation and crystallization is key to produce perovskite photovoltaics with superior performance. In this study, the addition of a weak coordination solvent acetonitrile (ACN) to an ionic liquid precursor solution was found to reduce the coordination between the solvent and perovskite solutes, improving the formation of large micelles and slowing the growth of perovskite crystals for a compact and smooth thin film. MAPbI(2.8)Br(0.2)-based solar cells achieved a high-power conversion efficiency of over 21% with long-term stability, demonstrating the effective improvement of perovskite photovoltaic devices by adjusting the chemical environment of various components of the precursor solution.
