Quality of life of COVID 19 patients after discharge: Systematic review

Summary: This systematic review examined the quality of life (QOL) and associated factors in COVID-19 patients following discharge or recovery. The results showed that regardless of the time elapsed, the QOL of post COVID-19 patients was significantly impacted. Female sex, older age, co-morbidities, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) admission, prolonged ICU stay, and being mechanically ventilated were the most frequently reported factors associated with low QOL.

Is reduced health-related quality of life a primary manifestation of fibromyalgia? A comparative study with Rheumatoid arthritis

Summary: This study compared the different components of health-related quality of life (HRQoL) between fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients, and evaluated the relationships between HRQoL and clinical and emotional factors. The results showed that FMS patients had lower HRQoL values compared to RA patients and healthy participants. Clinical and emotional factors were inversely associated with HRQoL scores, with depression and fatigue being the strongest negative predictors. However, most of these associations disappeared after considering the type of diagnosis in the regression analysis.
