Effect of the School-Based Asthma Care for Teens (SB-ACT) program on asthma morbidity: a 3-arm randomized controlled trial

Jill S. Halterman et al.

Summary: Urban adolescents with asthma often lack adequate preventive care. This study tested the effectiveness of a school-based asthma care program on asthma morbidity and preventive medication adherence. The results showed that the program improved medication availability and short-term adherence, but had no impact on asthma symptoms. Further research is needed to develop developmentally appropriate and effective interventions for this group.

Judith Tsui et al.

Summary: The pilot study evaluating the feasibility of video directly observed therapy (DOT) for patients initiating buprenorphine did not show better outcomes for opioid use disorder (OUD) compared to treatment-as-usual (TAU). The low rates of intervention use may have contributed to these findings.
