Laboratory studies on a novel salt-tolerant and alkali-free flooding system composed of a biopolymer and a bio-based surfactant for oil recovery

Meng-Ru Ge et al.

Summary: A high-yielding strain capable of producing salt-tolerant biopolymer was screened, which showed stable viscosity at high salinities and a wide range of pH. The biopolymer, in combination with a bio-based surfactant, formed a novel salt-tolerant and alkali-free binary flooding system with ultra-low interfacial tension between crude oil, indicating great potential for enhanced oil recovery in high salinity and high temperature oil reservoirs.

Temperature-resistant and salt-tolerant mixed surfactant system for EOR in the Tahe Oilfield

Summary: The study evaluated a new temperature-resistant and salt-tolerant mixed surfactant system for enhancing oil recovery at the Tahe Oilfield. Results showed that under certain conditions, the system can significantly improve oil recovery efficiency, making it a promising option for high-temperature, high-salinity carbonate reservoirs like those found in the Tahe Oilfield.
