Effective removal of tetracycline from aqueous solution using biochar prepared from pine bark: isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamic analyses

Dariush Naghipour et al.

Summary: There is growing concern about the contamination of water resources by emerging compounds and their adverse effects. This study investigated the removal of tetracycline from water using a biosorbent made from pine bark. The study examined various factors and the structural properties of the biochar. Results showed that the biochar had a high adsorption capacity and could effectively remove tetracycline. The findings suggest that biochar made from pine bark is a cost-effective adsorbent for removing tetracycline antibiotic.

Carbon nanotubes/β-cyclodextrin/MnFe2O4 as a magnetic nanocomposite powder for tetracycline antibiotic decontamination from different aqueous environments

Rauf Foroutan et al.

Summary: In this study, magnetic composites (CNT/MnFe2O4 and CNT/beta-CD/MnFe2O4) were successfully synthesized using carbon nanotubes (CNT) and beta-cyclodextrin (CD) for the removal of tetracycline (TC) antibiotics from water. The synthesized magnetic composites exhibited higher specific active surface area and showed effective removal of TC from various aqueous solutions, following different adsorption isotherm models. The research indicates promising potential of CNT-based magnetic composites as adsorbents for TC removal processes in water treatment.
