Fatty acid production of thraustochytrids from Saudi Arabian mangroves

Mohamed A. Abdel-Wahab et al.

Summary: This study reports the isolation of thraustochytrids from Syhat mangroves in Saudi Arabia, with a total of 108 isolates, three of which showed high biomass productivity and high PUFAs content. Phylogenetic analyses placed these three strains within the Aurantiochytrium clade, with two forming a separate clade and one grouping with Aurantiochytrium sp. TA4 from mangroves in Iran, Arabian Gulf.
