Effects of First Feeding Regime on Gene Expression and Enzyme Activity in Pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) Larvae

Aiman Imentai et al.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of different feeding regimes with rotifers and Artemia salina on gene expression and digestive enzymes in pikeperch larvae. The results showed that a combination of rotifers and Artemia as the initial diet may be more beneficial for the growth and digestion of pikeperch larvae. These findings provide valuable insights into the impact of the temporal sequence of rotifers and Artemia on gene expression and digestive enzyme activities in pikeperch larvae.

Effects of Replacing Dietary Fish Meal by Soybean Meal Co-Fermented Using Bacillus subtilis and Enterococcus faecium on Serum Antioxidant Indices and Gut Microbiota of Crucian Carp Carassius auratus

Qian Xu et al.

Summary: This study optimized the co-fermentation conditions of soybean meal and investigated the effects of replacing fish meal with fermented soybean meal on the serum antioxidant indices and gut microbiota composition of crucian carp. The results showed that replacing 40% fish meal with fermented soybean meal significantly improved the antioxidant capacity of crucian carp without causing significant changes in the gut microbiota composition.

Comparative performance, biochemical composition, and fatty acid analysis of Eurasian perch (Perca fluviatilis) during grow-out in RAS fed different commercial diets

Ralf Bochert

Summary: In this study, three different commercial feeds specialized for perch production were compared, and a feed designed for sturgeon and sea bass also showed acceptable results for perch. The best performing feed for perch had the highest weight gain, food conversion ratio, and growth rate.

Evaluation of Bacillus pumillus SE5 fermented soybean meal as a fish meal replacer in spotted seabass (Lateolabrax maculatus) feed

Samad Rahimnejad et al.

Summary: The study found that as the level of fish meal substitution with fermented soybean meal increased, the growth performance of spotted seabass juveniles decreased linearly and quadratically. In addition, feed consumption, feed efficiency, and various physiological and biochemical indicators also showed either linear or quadratic trends with increasing FSM levels.
