Intracervical double-balloon catheter versus dinoprostone for cervical ripening in labor induction in pregnancies with a high risk of uterine hyperstimulation

Javier Vega Canadas et al.

Summary: The study compared the effectiveness and safety of dinoprostone and intracervical double-balloon for cervical ripening in labor induction for pregnancies at higher risk of uterine hyperstimulation. Dinoprostone showed higher delivery rates within 12 hours and a higher cervical ripening rate compared to intracervical double-balloon. It also required less oxytocin, but was associated with a higher rate of minor complications such as uterine hyperstimulation.
