Summary: Flow-through electrodes with commercial graphite felt as cathode showed high reduction efficiency for Cr(VI) in acidic conditions. The porous structure allowed sufficient contact surface, while slow flow rate and high current promoted electroreduction. Competing metal ions at fast flow rates decreased Cr(VI) reduction efficiency.

Summary: A low-cost and low-power nitrate sensor for aquaculture has been proposed in this research, which can detect a wide range of nitrate concentrations from 0.01 ppm to 30 ppm. In addition, a wireless portable intelligent sensing system has been developed for real-time water quality monitoring, utilizing a machine learning algorithm for analysis of water samples. The performance of the sensor and sensing system is highly reliable and stable, suitable for continuous water quality monitoring in a smart sensing network.
