Leveraging Energy Function Virtualization With Game Theory for Fault-Tolerant Smart Grid

Kuan Wang et al.

Summary: The smart grid is essential for industrial manufacturing and residential living, but faces challenges in reliability and flexibility due to centralized grid equipment and large number of personal devices. To address these issues, energy function virtualization is proposed to separate energy functions from physical infrastructure, allowing for faster deployment and better utilization of resources. Additionally, optimized network calculus performance assessment and game theory-based resource orchestration schemes are introduced to incentivize prosumers and improve emergency response time.

Energy-Efficient Clustering Scheme for Flying Ad-Hoc Networks Using an Optimized LEACH Protocol

Salil Bharany et al.

Summary: This study proposes an energy-efficient clustering algorithm for Flying Ad-hoc networks and improves the LEACH protocol to reduce energy consumption in data transmission, thereby extending network lifetime and maximizing node's residual energy. Experimental results on MATLAB show that the proposed algorithm outperforms existing LEACH and Centralized Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy Protocol in terms of energy efficiency and packet delivery ratio while also improving First Node Death compared to LEACH and LEACH-C protocols.

An adaptive fault detector strategy for scientific workflow scheduling based on improved differential evolution algorithm in cloud

Mani Alaei et al.

Summary: The research aims to develop an adaptive fault detection strategy based on the Improved Differential Evolution algorithm in cloud computing to minimize energy consumption, makespan, total cost, and tolerate faults while scheduling scientific workflows. The proposed method utilizes an adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system prediction model to proactively control resource load fluctuation and applies a reactive fault tolerance technique for processor failures. Experimental results showed significant improvements in scheduling performance, fault tolerance, makespan, energy consumption, task fault ratio, and total cost compared to existing techniques.
