Energy, exergy and economic analyses and multiobjective optimization of a novel solar multi- generation system for production of green hydrogen and other utilities

Mert Colakoglu et al.

Summary: This study proposes a solar tower-based multi-generation system for green hydrogen production. The system integrates multiple power cycles, including a solar-driven Brayton cycle, a regenerative Rankine cycle, and a Kalina cycle-11. Energy, exergy, and economic analyses are performed, and a parametric analysis is conducted. The study finds that the size of the electrolyzer power is a critical decision variable, and the solar subsystem has the largest exergy destruction. The regenerative Rankine cycle operates at the highest energy and exergy efficiencies among the power cycles.
