Synthesis of Oxygen-Deficient WO3-x Nanoplates and Hollow Microspheres Decorated on a Carbon Cloth for Supercapacitors

Summary: Oxygen-deficient CC-WO3-x nanoplates and hollow microspheres were synthesized using a simple solvent-thermal route. The obtained materials exhibited improved electronic conductivity and higher specific surface area due to their unique nano-structural features. They showed high capacitance, excellent rate performance, and superior cycling stability. The route provides a new way to prepare hybrid nanostructures with oxygen-deficient and binder-free metal oxide-based electrode material.

Metal oxide-based two-dimensional materials, such as reduced graphene oxide nanocomposites, show great potential for this purpose. The ZnO-CuO/rGO nanocomposites were successfully synthesized and extensively characterized. The nanocomposite exhibited high capacitance, energy density, and excellent cycle stability in the 1 M H2SO4 electrolyte, making it a promising electrode material for supercapacitors.

RGO/WO3 hierarchical architectures for improved H2S sensing and highly efficient solar-driving photo-degradation of RhB dye

Summary: The study reported a facile synthesis of Reduced Graphene Oxide/Tungsten Oxide (RGO/WO3) hierarchical nanostructures via simple hydrothermal route, resulting in improved H2S sensing and highly efficient solar-driven photo-degradation of RhB dye. The created hierarchic marigold frameworks offered efficient gas delivery networks, leading to a significant increase in sensing response to H2S. Additionally, the inclusion of RGO boosted the photocatalytic activity, achieving 94% degradation of RhB dye under natural sunlight.

Electronic properties, optical properties and diffusion behavior of WO3 with H+, Li+ and Na+ intercalated ions: A first-principles study
