Numerical investigation of mixed convection of nanofluid flow in a trapezoidal channel with different aspect ratios in the presence of porous medium

M. A. El-Shorbagy et al.

Summary: This numerical study investigates the mixed convection of nanofluid flow in a trapezoidal channel with different aspect ratios, along with the presence of porous media. The results show that a decrease in Richardson number leads to increased heat transfer, with the highest heat transfer occurring at 90% porous height. The aspect ratio of 0.3 predicts more heat transfer compared to an aspect ratio of 0.5, and the Nusselt number exhibits unique behaviors with an increase in percentage of porous height.

New insights into the effects of methane and oxygen on heat/mass transfer in reactive porous media

Zhilong Cheng et al.

Summary: This study examines the effects of methane and oxygen injection concentrations on sintering performance, showing that high methane concentration can expand the melting zone and increase the melting quantity index, while low oxygen concentration in the reacting flow can slow down the propagation speed of the melting zone, thus improving local sintering performance.

Numerical investigation of delamination onset and propagation in catalyst layers of PEM fuel cells under hygrothermal cycles

Yixiang Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, the deterioration of the microstructure of catalyst layers under dynamic loading operation in PEM fuel cells was investigated numerically. The research found that increasing clamping stress delays the onset of delamination while the amplitude of hygrothermal cycles is the dominating factor in delamination.
