Comprehensive Techno-Economic Analysis of a Multi-Feedstock Biorefinery Plant in Oil-Rich Country: A Case Study of Iran

Behrooz Ruhani et al.

Summary: This study investigates the technical and economic features of biodiesel production from various wastes in Iran. The results suggest that establishing a biodiesel plant in the southern area of Iran, specifically with a focus on microalgae units, would be the most profitable and economically viable option.

Numerical simulation of the effect of battery distance and inlet and outlet length on the cooling of cylindrical lithium-ion batteries and overall performance of thermal management system

Behrooz Ruhani et al.

Summary: This paper simulates the cooling system of a two-dimensional lithium-ion battery pack with 9 battery cells. The study shows that increasing the Reynolds number lowers the maximum temperature of the battery pack. Additionally, increasing the inlet size raises the maximum temperature of all battery cells in the system.

Extension of Intersection Method for Multi-Objective Optimization in Case of Interval Number and its Application

Maosheng Zheng et al.

Summary: This paper develops an extension of the intersection method for multi-objective optimization under the condition of interval numbers. It presents a formula to calculate the actual partial favourable probability of a performance indicator and ranks candidates based on their total favourable probabilities. Applications in various fields demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Graphite powder mixed with black paint on the absorber plate of the solar still to enhance yield: An experimental investigation

Hitesh Panchal et al.

Summary: The main goal of the study was to investigate how adding graphite powder and black paint to the absorber plate can increase the yield of a solar still. The modified solar still (MSS) with graphite powder mixed with black paint showed higher yield and shorter payback period compared to the Conventional solar still (CSS) used as reference.

Comprehensive study on hydrogen production via propane steam reforming inside a reactor

Pouya Barnoon et al.

Summary: This study investigates a steam reactor powered by propane fuel in proton exchange membrane fuel cells, and examines the control of reaction rate by velocity and temperature fields within the reformer. It is found that the reaction rate can be adjusted by the velocity and temperatures of the hot gases, achieving complete propane consumption at a temperature of 900 K.

Applying Simulation Modelling in Quantifying Optimization Results

Ratko Stankovic et al.

Summary: The use of linear programming models in logistics optimization may not always result in physically measurable improvements, but rather in non-dimensional values. This can make it challenging to showcase the actual benefits to stakeholders. The article suggests the use of simulation modeling to quantify the results of optimizing cross dock terminal gates allocation.
