A highly active and stable Pd/MoC catalyst for hydrogen production from methanol decomposition

Fufeng Cai et al.

Summary: A series of Pd/MoC catalysts were prepared and evaluated for hydrogen production from methanol decomposition, with 0.5Pd/MoC catalyst showing superior catalytic efficiency and stability compared to traditional CuZnAl catalyst. Strong interaction between Pd particles and alpha-MoC1-x phase on the 0.5Pd/MoC catalyst contributed to its stable catalytic performance.

Hydrogen-rich syngas production by liquid phase pulsed electrodeless discharge

Yanbin Xin et al.

Summary: This study investigates the production of hydrogen-rich syngas from ethanol/water mixtures using pulsed electrodeless discharge. The research has found that high peak voltage and appropriate electrode distance are crucial for achieving high yield and efficiency. The main components of the produced gas are H2 and CO, with H2 generation being a key factor influencing CO production.

Catalytic conversion of bio-renewable glycerol to pure hydrogen and syngas: Energy management and mitigation of environmental pollution

Mohammad Hasan Khademi et al.

Summary: The research aims to produce pure hydrogen and syngas through a heat-integrated reactor to reduce dependence on hydrocarbon resources and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions. Numerical results show that complete conversion of glycerol and methane and a hydrogen recovery rate of over 70% can be achieved by adjusting operating conditions effectively.

Single-step, high pressure, and two-step spark plasma sintering of UO2 nanopowders

E. De Bona et al.

Summary: Three different spark plasma sintering (SPS) treatments were applied to highly interactive, near-stoichiometric UO2.04 nanocrystalline powders. The sintering conditions for reaching 95 % theoretical density were determined in regular SPS, high pressure SPS, and two-step SPS. The goal was to minimize grain growth during densification and achieve equally dense UO2 samples of different grain sizes, followed by a final annealing treatment to reduce hyperstoichiometric samples to UO2.00.

Instantaneous hydrogen production from ammonia by non-thermal arc plasma combining with catalyst

Q. F. Lin et al.

Summary: This paper presents a method of producing hydrogen from ammonia in real time with high efficiency and large scale, using non-thermal arc plasma (NTAP) combined with a NiO/Al2O3 catalyst. The study investigates the effects of ammonia gas flow rate and discharge power on the hydrogen production process, and experimental results demonstrate high energy efficiency under optimal plasma discharge conditions.

Photodissociation dynamics of water molecule at short photon wavelengths: full dimensional potential energy surface of Rydberg states

Yigeng Peng et al.

Summary: This study combines the multi-reference double-excitation configuration interaction method with molecular orbitals optimized with a multi-configurational self-consistent-field approach, resulting in lower computational costs and improved accuracy, particularly for highly excited states. By applying this technique to the water molecule, the full-dimensional potential energy surfaces have been computed up to the F states, leading to the discovery of new and efficient fragmentation pathways during photodissociation dynamics triggered by short wavelength photons. This work sets a foundation for exploring reaction dynamics of polyatomic molecules in high-lying electronic states.

Hydrogen production from ethanol using a special multi-segment plasma-catalytic reactor

Bogdan Ulejczyk et al.

Summary: The research focused on the process of hydrogen production from a mixture of water and ethanol in plasma and plasma-catalytic reactors. It was found that hydrogen production in the plasma-catalytic reactor was up to 2.4 times greater compared to the plasma reactor, with higher energy efficiency.
