Protection of CCl4-induced hepatic and renal damage by linalool

Mohammad Mazani et al.

Summary: The aim of this study was to investigate the protective and therapeutic effects of linalool against carbon tetrachloride-induced liver and kidney damage. The results demonstrated that linalool significantly inhibited the hepatic and nephric damages caused by CCl4 and could potentially be used as a therapeutic agent against chemical and drug induced hepatotoxicity and nephrotoxicity.

Protective Effects of Naringenin from Citrus sinensis (var. Valencia) Peels against CCl4-Induced Hepatic and Renal Injuries in Rats Assessed by Metabolomics, Histological and Biochemical Analyses

Naglaa M. Ammar et al.

Summary: Naringenin exhibits significant hepatoprotective and renoprotective effects against CCl4-induced toxicity by reducing liver enzyme levels and pathological changes, and improving kidney tissue structure. Its mechanism of action may involve the regulation of fatty acid, amino acid, and energy metabolism, which could be effective targets for liver and kidney toxicity management.

Mitochondrial transplantation therapy inhibit carbon tetrachloride-induced liver injury through scavenging free radicals and protecting hepatocytes

Zizhen Zhao et al.

Summary: Mitochondrial transplantation therapy shows significant efficacy in treating CCl4-induced liver injury in animal models, improving liver function by increasing ATP supply and reducing free radical damage. The therapy triggers a protective response through UPRmt and rehabilitates mitochondrial function, ultimately enhancing stress resistance and promoting cell survival.
