The therapeutic prospect of zinc oxide nanoparticles in experimentally induced diabetic nephropathy

Summary: This study evaluated the potential efficacy of zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) in treating diabetic nephropathy (DN). The results showed that ZnO-NPs can ameliorate the functional and histopathological alterations of the kidney in a rat model of DN. This improvement may be attributed to the activation of autophagy, inhibition of inflammation, and antioxidant effects.

Green synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Rhodiola imbricata and Withania somnifera root extract and their potential catalytic, antioxidant, cytotoxic and growth-promoting activities

Summary: This study presents the development of a sustainable production process of environmentally benign silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) from aqueous root extract of Rhodiola imbricata (RI) and Withania somnifera (WS) for mitigating environmental pollution and investigating their potential applications in agriculture and biomedical industry. The study characterized RIWS-AgNPs and evaluated their antioxidant, anticancer, and phytostimulatory activities. The results showed that RIWS-AgNPs were well-dispersed and exhibited effective catalytic degradation of environmental pollutants, as well as enhanced plant growth and antioxidant properties. This study highlights the potential of RIWS-AgNPs as green alternatives in various industries.

Evaluation of hepato and renal protective effect of synthesized nanoparticles using Tinospora cordifolia leaf extract

Summary: This study focused on synthesizing silver nanoparticles using the ethanolic leaf extract of Tinospora cordifolia and evaluated their antioxidant, hepato and nephro-protective effects. The results showed that the treatment with the silver nanoparticles restored the serum levels of urea, creatine, uric acid, SGOT and SGPT in mice induced with potassium bromate, indicating their potential therapeutic use. The histopathological study on kidney tissues supported the biochemical observations. Overall, the synthesized AgNPs exhibited strong antioxidant, hepato and nephro-protective effects.

The findings suggest that ZnONPs synthesized using green tea may have potential therapeutic applications in protecting against OTA-related health issues in rats.
