Did Italy Really Need Compulsory Vaccination against COVID-19 for Healthcare Workers? Results of a Survey in a Centre for Maternal and Child Health

I Would Never Push a Vaccine on You: A Qualitative Study of Social Norms and Pressure in Vaccine Behavior in the U.S.

Summary: Social norms have been found to influence vaccine behavior, but little is known about how individuals' experiences with these social factors contribute to their acceptance or refusal of a vaccine. This study aimed to explore the mechanisms of familial and societal pressure or expectations in COVID-19 vaccine decision-making. The findings revealed three themes: the dominance of altruistic reasoning among hesitant late adopters, the transformation of expectations into pressure, and the creation of divisions within families based on vaccination status.
