Systematic identification of safe harbor regions in the CHO genome through a comprehensive epigenome analysis

William Hilliard et al.

Summary: Recent studies have shown that using site-specific integration (SSI) technology can help overcome production instability in CHO cell lines. Integration of transgenes at specific hotspots in the genome with enhanced stability and active gene expression properties. By analyzing the epigenomics and transcriptomes of different cell lines, regions with active and stable gene expression markers can be identified for maximizing the potential of SSI technology in industrial CHO cell lines.
