A Novel Exosome-Relevant Molecular Classification Uncovers Distinct Immune Escape Mechanisms and Genomic Alterations in Gastric Cancer

Yubiao Lin et al.

Summary: This study provides assistance for personalized therapy for gastric cancer through exosome-based classification. The results show that exosome-relevant phenotype B has a poorer prognosis, an inflamed tumor microenvironment, and higher responses to the anti-CTLA4 inhibitor. The exosome-based gene signature can independently and accurately predict gastric cancer prognosis, which is linked to stromal activation and immunosuppression.

Role of an Exosomes-Related lncRNAs Signature in Tumor Immune Microenvironment of Gastric Cancer

Chan Li et al.

Summary: In this study, a novel exosomes-related lncRNA signature was identified, which may be associated with the tumor immune microenvironment and potentially serve as an indicator for immunotherapy in gastric cancer (GC) patients. These findings are of great importance for predicting the prognosis of GC patients.

Global cancer statistics 2020: GLOBOCAN estimates of incidence and mortality worldwide for 36 cancers in 185 countries

Hyuna Sung et al.

Summary: The global cancer burden in 2020 saw an estimated 19.3 million new cancer cases and almost 10.0 million cancer deaths. Female breast cancer surpassed lung cancer as the most commonly diagnosed cancer, while lung cancer remained the leading cause of cancer death. These trends are expected to rise in 2040, with transitioning countries experiencing a larger increase compared to transitioned countries due to demographic changes and risk factors associated with globalization and a growing economy. Efforts to improve cancer prevention measures and provision of cancer care in transitioning countries will be crucial for global cancer control.

Progress on pivotal role and application of exosome in lung cancer carcinogenesis, diagnosis, therapy and prognosis

Ming-Yue Li et al.

Summary: Lung cancer is often diagnosed late with poor prognosis, and conventional treatments are ineffective for metastatic lung cancer. Lung cancer cell-derived exosomes are receiving attention for their potential in carcinogenesis, diagnosis, therapy, and prognosis of lung cancer, with studies looking into their use as drug delivery vehicles and potential clinical applications.

Single-cell analysis of a tumor-derived exosome signature correlates with prognosis and immunotherapy response

Jiani Wu et al.

Summary: The study established a tumor-derived exosome signature named TEXscore to predict overall survival in multiple cancer types and in patients undergoing immune checkpoint blockade therapies. TEXscore was associated with disease progression and poor clinical outcomes, serving as a reliable biomarker to distinguish cancer from non-cancer sources. TEXscore showed great potential in predicting immunotherapy response in a variety of cancers.
